pre-literacy skills with the nursery stages (2-4 year olds)

This practical-based, exciting new course focuses on introducing literacy skills with Very Young Learners from 2-4 years of age and serves as a prelude to the Jolly Phonics method or alternative synthetic phonics programmes.

Through the use of topics, language play, songs, art and role-play, it is possible for Very Young Learners to become aware of how sounds are linked to letters and words, creating positive reading and writing experiences from the earliest stages in preschool. Exposure to the English language using a natural and fun approach also helps to develop and reinforce skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, language comprehension and acquisition essential for ESL-learners.

The Fun Phonics Pre-reading Framework is an informal framework or bank of practical ideas and activities that can be used at home by parents or at school by teachers. It covers the introduction of basic literacy concepts to Very Young Learners (2-4 year olds) using a multi-sensory approach to teaching through everyday, simple classroom activities.

jolly Grammar 3&4 (4-6 hours)

Continuing reading, writing, spelling & basic grammar concepts with the early Primary Stages.

(8-10 year olds)

Jolly Grammar 3&4 are the fourth and fifth years of the Jolly Phonics reading and writing programme. They continue to build on the children´s knowledge of spelling and grammar in a cumulative manner, helping students to both understand and use the more complex spelling and grammar concepts in the English language.

In the first two years of Jolly Grammar, children are introduced to basic sentence work, punctuation and parts of speech. In Jolly Grammar 3&4, the children continue to learn about more complex aspects of grammar such as how to identify the subject and object in sentences and how to write and organize information through the use of paragraphs. This also gives ESL-learners the opportunity for crucial writing practice, which helps improve both language acquisition and comprehension.
